Profile
Selected for high forage yield with excellent winter hardiness and persistence. Sidewinder has a vigorous creeping root system with yields similar to tap root varieties.
Sidewinder is an excellent fit for the dryland pastures of Western Canada, but is a true multi-purpose variety that can be used for both pasture and hay. As the alfalfa stand ages, rhizomatous stems fill in the stand. Very good wheel traffic tolerance. Excellent winter survival delivers a long stand life under tough weather conditions. No known soil type or management limitations.
- Later maturity to flower which adds value to a grass blend
- Deep set crown with wheel traffic tolerance
- Excellent disease resistance package
- Multipurpose variety for forage hay or pasture
