Courtenay tall fescue is an excellent choice for wet soils or fields with periods of flooding. Suited both for soils with high water tables or well drained soils.

With its deep root system, Courtenay tall fescue is a wetland grass that produces well during dry periods. Courtenay tall fescue is a bunchgrass with large basal leaves (like meadow brome). Basal leaves are low on the plant making an excellent leafy pasture or hay.

Courtenay tall fescue is a vigorous perennial bunchgrass that competes very well with other grasses or alfalfas in mixtures.
